What is VIRALEZE™ Barrier Nasal Spray?
VIRALEZE™ is a nasal spray that provides a physical moisture barrier between cold/respiratory viruses and the nasal mucosa. The formulation contains astodrimer sodium, which has been proven in laboratory studies to physically trap and block cold/respiratory viruses^, helping to prevent their adhesion to the nasal mucous membrane.
VIRALEZE™ is intended to be used in situations where individuals may be exposed to cold/respiratory viruses, and where nasal passages may become dry and irritated, such as dry climates, indoor heated/air-conditioned environments, hospitals, aged care, public transport and during air travel.
This medical device is a regulated health product which bears, under this regulation, the CE marking.

Testing of astodrimer sodium was conducted at The Scripps Research Institute, USA and 360biolabs, Australia.
How does VIRALEZE™ work?
The nasal cavity is the primary site where cold/respiratory viruses become established before a cold/respiratory infection develops.
Mucus is naturally produced in the nose and its role is to trap foreign particles, including viruses, and reduce the chance of them infecting cells in the nasal cavity and entering the lungs. The mucoadhesive formula of VIRALEZE™ provides an additional moisture barrier in your nose that aims to help keep the nasal mucosa hydrated, for protection against mucosal drying and damage, thereby supporting your body’s natural defenses against viruses.
